BECAUSE WE HAVE THE MOST FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS OF ANY PATROL IN THE AREA, The Big Powderhorn Ski Patrol receives transfer and secondary patroller requests each year. The number of transfers we can accept is determined by several factors including, but not limited to:

  • Shift coverage needs

  • Instructor and additional qualifications/our needs

IN EXCHANGE FOR COVERING A MINIMUM OF 10 DAYS PER SEASON (DID WE MENTION THE MOST FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE OF ANY PATROL IN THE AREA?), BIG POWDERHORN PRIMARY PATROLLERS RECEIVE EXCELLENT BENEFITS (CLICK FOR MORE INFO). SECONDARY PATROLLERS ARE REQUIRED TO COVER 5 DAYS PER SEASON. PATROL RESERVE MEMBERS VOLUNTEER TO COVER SHIFTS AS NEEDED AND ARE ELIGIBLE FOR INCENTIVES FOR SHIFTS WORKED.

  • Complete and submit the transfer application below

  • Attend an in-person interview and ski-along

  • Participate in an on-hill assessment to determine toboggan handling skills and capabilities
