Pro Patroller, Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort

Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort is seeking a Pro Patroller to assist our guests including providing first aid, search and rescue, lift evacuation, by transporting guests via snowmobile and toboggan, monitoring areas for injured, reckless, and lost guests and hazards; completing ongoing training and practice as well as assisting Big Powderhorn management in various hill maintenance tasks and enforcing Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort polices.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of ski patrol or emergency medical care experience;
- Current National Ski Patrol membership;
- Current OEC, OET, and professional level CPR certification;
- Above average skiing/snowboarding skills in varied terrain;
- Ability to work extended hours outdoors in adverse weather conditions;
- Ability to operate a snowmobile safely in adverse conditions;
- Ability to communicate effectively using two-way radios;
- Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy/unwieldy items;
- Proficiency with computer applications;
- High school education or equivalent, some college preferred;
- Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care/first aid;
- Provide transport via toboggan/snowmobile in varied terrain and conditions;
- Evaluate conditions and hazards continuously;
- Assist the Patrol Director in the management of daily operations;
- Lead and participate in search and rescue operations;
- Perform chairlift evacuation using specialized equipment;
- Maintain certifications including OEC, OET, CPR, and related credentials;
- Install and maintain signs, fencing, hazard markings, rope/bamboo lines, and other safety systems including maintaining proper height of tower padding;
- Assist the Patrol Director in the investigation of incidents and in overseeing the proper completion of all patient care, accident, and incident investigation records and reports by patrollers and staff;
- Identify and intercept guests being reckless or violating Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort policies to educate and encourage compliance.
- Assist the Patrol Director in supervising and coordinating the activities of Big Powderhorn’s Ski Patrol and ensuring that all ski patrol employees and volunteers follow all relevant policies and procedures;
- Assist the Patrol Director and Big Powderhorn management in opening and closing terrain at the direction of Big Powderhorn Mountain managment
- Assist the Patrol Director in managing and coordinating training for lift evacuation, low-angle rescue, OEC, OET, and related training;
- Assist the Patrol Director in pre-season setup, in-season maintenance, inventory, and ordering, and post-season teardown supplies and equipment;
- Assist other departments when required;
